Alumni
Welcome to the School of Mathematics website. Even though you may have graduated, you are still part of the community of Bristol Mathematics. So do come back and visit this site!
Keep in touch!
We’d love to hear what you’ve done since graduating and maybe feature you in an article in our Alumni Newsletter "MathsGrad". Do get in touch to let us know what you are doing now. (See sidebar for contact details.)
Visit the University's University Alumni and Friends webpage to see how to stay in touch and involved with the university.
2010 Reunion event
Thank you to the maths alumni who returned to visit the School as part of the alumni reunion! Current undergraduates and staff were delighted to have a chance to chat to alumni who have studied here over the past 40 years. The Saturday morning program included a welcome from the Head of School, a general interest talk "Hollywood's hippest mathematics: Random matrices and Riemann zeros" by Dr Nina Snaith, and plenty of time for informal discussion which varied through reminiscing over former lecturers, updates from the alumni about their current positions, and a discussion of which pubs are still in business! We thoroughly enjoy welcoming our former students back to the School and we hope to see even more alumni at next year's reunion. Do come and join us!
Mathematical Ethnographies Videos
Have you seen the mathematical ethnographies videos? these films focus not on mathematics but on the people who create and teach mathematics. We would appreciate feedback for further projects (see sidebar).
If you enjoy this you may also like the media projects of the Faculty of Science.
