Research Interests

I am interested in many kinds of nonparametric problems like regression, density estimation and image analysis.

My main focus is to produce simple approximations without artificial local extreme values that fit the data in the sense that the data look like a typical sample from the approximating function. Important ingredients of my research include multiresolution analyses of residuals and total-variation based methods like the taut string method.
