How to apply
Application Deadlines
For UK and EU applicants, applications should be submitted between 1 September and 15 January for entry in the following October. Applications submitted after 15 January will be regarded as late, and their chances of success may be much lower. Overseas applicants can normally apply any time up to the beginning of June for entry in October.
For more information, contact the admissions team (see side bar).
UCAS
All applications to the University are made through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). Advice for completing this form as well as full details of the application deadlines can be found on the UCAS website or through your school or college.
Please note that offers can only be made through the UCAS system upon receipt of an applicant's UCAS form.
Advice on which course to apply for can be found here. Our programme structure allows for the possibility of transferring between single honours mathematics courses as well as between single and joint honours mathematics courses; in many cases transferring is straightforward.
If you are undecided between a four-year or a three-year course, we recommend that you apply for a four-year course, as this may save you having to apply for an extra year's funding later on. It is easy to switch to a three-year course once you have started your degree.
University Open Days
The University Open Days give potential applicants the chance to see the University, its departments, services and accommodation. You will meet staff and students who will be happy to answer your questions. It's an excellent opportunity to find out what it is like to be a student at Bristol.
On the School of Mathematics Open Day, you will be able to attend a series of short lectures including talks by the Admissions Team on studying mathematics at Bristol.
